FIFE'S FINEST - WHO ARE WE?

Fife's Finest are a group of like minded individuals who are committed to following Raith Rovers Football Club home and away, supporting and raising money for the club. One of the noisier sections of the Rovers support, you can usually find us on matchdays wherever the singing is, or in the nearest pub prior to matches!

Mostly from the Kirkcaldy/Glenrothes area, we were founded some 15 years ago in Glenrothes before merging with a group of supporters from Kirkcaldy about 10 years ago. We are not simply a bunch of 'loud lads' who boisterously get behind the team; through the years the group has developed from simply a bunch of pals enjoying our 'away days' to a group who are a recognised part of the supporters fabric of Raith Rovers, and have shown to 'have form' when it comes to putting our shoulder to the grind and doing our bit for the club. Our partnerships with local businesses allow us to run events to raise money and the profile of the club in the community.

We remain independent as, in our view, all Raith supporters should have the opportunity to do what they can to contribute, regardless of whether are 'official' or not, and we support the efforts of all fans who have something to offer. We're all in this for the same thing - to support the Rovers!

What We Do - For Raith Rovers

Our members were key to the efforts of the 'Reclaim the Rovers' campaign (the campaign to save the Rovers from closure in 2005) and our ongoing fundraising continues to raise a considerable amount of money for Raith Rovers, helping the club to bring in new players and purchase equipment where needed. We sponsor 3 players each season and donate thier signed jerseys to chairty, and have regularly sponsored Rovers home matches.

We run regular fundrasing events including race nights, pool tournaments, 7-a-side football and help organise the annual Rock the Rovers event all to raise money to help the Rovers. We also run our own end of season awards night to honour present and past Rovers players and our own members achievements. You can find more information in the events section of the site.

Primarily though, we are all about supporting the Rovers and creating an  atmosphereto inspire the team to victory! You may also have noticed our flag  in the Railway Stand on home matchdays.

In addition to supporting the Rovers, we also help local charities where we can, including the 'help for heroes' campaign and cancer research, sponsorhip of local youth team St John's 94 and donation of match equipment to Kirkcaldy juniors.

What We Do - For Our Members

Our group is well known for its social side; on home matchdays we provide food and travel to Stark's Park for our members courtesy of Styx, as well as providing enough to keep the kids happy with a Nintendo Wii and internet access so the adults can enjoy a few beers in peace! You can usually see us out and about in Kirkcaldy  after games, celebrating Rovers victory or more often than not, commemorating defeat. We also have a  membership benefit scheme providing discounts with local businesses.

We arrange our own private minibusses for away games and thanks to friendships built up with rival supporters groups, we often enjoy a few beers with fans in away pubs who lay food on for us, and occasionally stay behind after the match for a few beers with the locals. And regardless of the score, the journey home is sure to be a good laugh with the legendary bus 'party albums'.

Througout the years we've built up good friendships with rivals supporters pubs including Torely's in Lochgelly (Cowdenbeath fans), The Albion Bar in Stirling (Stirling Albion) and even have pals over at Arsenal Scotland's Mercat Bar in Edinburgh who provide great hospitality on matchdays and nights out, and help us in our fundraising efforts.

We are also a focal point for other fans groups who fancy a bit of matchday 'hospitality' and as well as rival teams supporters, have built up friendships with those just visiting for the day including fans of Arsenal and Wrexham, and those who just want a good day out at the footie! So whether you are a Rovers fan travelling away or an away fan visiting Kirkcaldy, everyone can enjoy themselves, have a few beers,  a good laugh and enjoy their day at the footie - regardless of the score!

We also have our own uniquely designed club badge to give us our own identity within the Rovers family, and have our own branded merchandise and fashionwear available to members in our club shop.

Away from the Rovers, we run regular Friday night 7-a-side footie at Balwearie High School, organise and take part in football tournaments, as well as having our own 11-a-side team for friendly matches.

FANCY GETTING INVOLVED?

You don't so much 'join' Fife's Finest as much as become a part of it. If you're willing to contribute, go that extra mile and are committed to the Rovers then we're always on the lookout for new members. The benefits offered by the club are a reward for the effort put in by the group, and if you think this is for you, then come along to Styx on home matchdays to meet the guys or email stelios@fifesfinest.co.uk.
