OUR CLUB BADGE

Fife's Finest are identifyable by their trademark symbol of a bull wearing a Rovers tartan kilt.

The bull is a much-revered Celtic animal symbol (that's pronounced Keltic), with several different translations. Mostly, this is a symbol of strong will and for centuries the bull has been a symbol of strength, tenacity, virility and power. Left alone, a bull will happily graze; but if it is bothered, it will charge! Taureans are thought to be persevering, strong individuals, who can be dogged and determined when they have a goal in mind. Taureans are also quite sensual and, often, self-indulgent "beasts"

The symbol characterises the traits of Fife's Finest and our mentality; strong as a group, reactive when provoked, determined to achieve our goals and self-indulgent beasts when out on the bevvy! The bull can be seen on our merchandise and offers us a unique way of identifying ourselves within the Raith Rovers supporters 'family', promoting our presence at Rovers matches and events, and making our members easy to spot (other than by being loud and having a drink in our hands!)

Origins of the design

The bull was chosen as a symbol for the group by proactive members of the bus with links to Italian side Torino, and in particular fans group granata online, who use the image of the bull in their own club crest. The Italians have been a source of inspiration for Fife's Finest by their passionate and uncomprimising support for their team, through the good times and the bad.

The link was established through long-time bus campaigner Davie Hancock, club captain of the Geordie Munrovers, who built friendships with the Italians over a number of years resulting in several exchange visits over the last few year between Torino and Rovers fans including the 2005 visit of GOL to Kirkcaldy and the return trip to Turin in 2006 .

The Rovers tartan kilt and bagpipes personalises the image to reflect RRFC and the patriotic roots of group, and has been a valuable symbol in establishing Fife's Finest identity with the Rovers supporters 'famliy'.
