RAITH 3 BERWICK 11/8/07

John McGlynn's side managed bto break yet another recent club hoodoo by performing and getting a result in front of a decent home crowd for Raith's 3 successive victory of the new campaign.

With 2 great results on the road, expectations were high amongst the home support which usually does more harm than good as the team have a habit of underperforming, mixed with a home support quick to get on their backs. An early goal from Andy Todd set the Rovers up for the expectant vicotry, however the goals were not forthcoming and home support subdued. This played exactly in Berwick's gameplan as it is a well known fact that if teams frustrate the Rovers, the home fans are less patient than at away matches.

A shocking challenge on Chris Fahey contributed to Berwick's undeserved equaliser, although you have to question if his decision to race that far out of his box was a sensible one (sorry Chris!). However, Rovers were a different team the second half, and done exactly what we'll need to do at home if we are to mount a serious league challenge: dug in, chased down players but didn't panic when on the ball.

The result was 2 well-taken goals, the first by Ryan Borris and then a trademark header from Marvin Andrews, which got the crowd going again and hopefully a bit of momentum back after a dull 1st half which we can take into the St Johnstone game on Tuesday night
