RACE NIGHT - 9/11/07

Our first ever race night took place in Styx, and with plenty of booze to be won it was always going to be a winner!

A good turnout and a quality buffet combined with horse races, pig races and even dog races made sure everyone enjoyed themselves. If nothing else, ther was the entertainment factor of watching the Scottish Scousers redefine the term 'binge drinking' and sending a warning to everyone about the effects of excessive alcohol intake.

Included in the night was the chance to win a bottle of vodka by throwing 50 pence pieces at it. Whoever's coin landed closest won, and the eventual winner was Grubby who was relentless in his persuit - much like PC after a woman - although probably chucked about £20 worth of coins at it!

The raffle saw a range of prizes won, mostly by Rachel, with loads of prizes donated from local businesses, pubs and Rovers supporters groups.

The final race of the night saw horses auctioned off to the highest bidder in a fiercly-contested finale to the night, with a total prize of £105 won by Chubby.

In all, the night was a great success and raised a considerable amount of money.

Money raised from the night will be contributed to the transfer of David Goodwillie along with donations from the the other Raith Forum groups.
