ONE GAME, ONE COMMUNITY ACTION EVENT

ONE GAME, ONE COMMUNITY 7s TOURNAMENT - 18/10/08

Kick It Out is football's anti-racism campaign and works throughout the football, educational and community sectors to challenge racism and work for positive change.

This year, a fortnight of action from 16th - 18th October sees football clubs and supporters groups around the country promote the campaign through various events and activities. The One Game, One Community Weeks Of Action is one of the most prominent equality and community engagement initiatives in the country. The weeks have a strong community focus and play a role in celebrating diversity and inclusion. The period sees the game's biggest names stand alongside communities across the UK under the banner of 'One Game, One Community'.

Grassroots clubs, schools, community groups and fans join the professional game in coming together in symbolic activities promoting inclusion and Fife's Finest organised a 7-a-side football tournament at Balwearie High School to show their support for the campaign. 8 teams took part including Fife's Arabic Assocation and Fife's Polish Assocation "Most", along with supporters groups from Rovers and local rivals Dunfermline, and other local teams.

The tourament saw Fife's Finest side Stella Strollers knocked out in the group stages on goal difference, despite winning 2 out of 3, including a victory over our neighbours Dunfermline FRL. More luck for the other Fife's Finest team who progressed to the semi-finals, only to lose out 3-1 to the Pars.

Congratulations go to Inter Barda Utd, representing Fife's Arabic Association, who eventually won the tournament on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the final against Dunfermline FRL. The group were presented with the winners trophy by Rovers players Joe Dunbar and Andy Todd, and former Rovers favourite Marvin Andrews.

Massive thanks to everyone who took part: Fife's Finest, Most, Fife Arabic Association, FC Cain, Rovers Utd, Dunfermline FRL and Kirkcaldy Albion, Andy Todd, Joe Dunbar, Marvin Andrews and Raith Rovers FC.
