I'm a yank who went to University in St. Andrews, coming over this weekend to Kirkcaldy for a reunion with 3 of my flatmates I haven't seen in 20 years. I'm promised a weekend of debauchery, including a trip to watch the Rovers. Hopefully the match will be on and I can meet you lot pregame.

Always glad to see Rovers fanatics doing their bit. As a guy who basically travels the world with my work, there are now people of many nationalities who watch with interest for the Rovers result on a Saturday night. I think the best story was a Geordie pal of mine who, forgetting himself, jumped up in his local bar and shouted loudly'Get in'!, when the Rovers result came in, much to the puzzlement of his mates! Anyhow, keep up the good work and now that I have found your site, I will be checking it regularly.
A ra best

hi mate, great to hear from you and good to know there's Rovers fans on the continent keeping the faith!
would be tremendous to meet you when you're over for some local hospitality, some of our nights out make Amsterdam look tame ;-) no problem if you want to become a member, as long as you send pics over! We have Rovers fans we're pals with in Greece (Athens) and Italy (Turin) so good to see Rovers dominating Europe again, just like in 1995!
tried sending you an email but didn't seem to work, if you want to get in touch just send me an email at the address above. get in touch when you're coming across.

I'm a Rovers fan since i watched the relegation match against Queen of the South in i think 2003. The result was a 3-1 victory (an outstanding performance by Ramon Pereirra). Living in the Netherlands it isn't possible for me to come often, but I've been there three times after wards. Last time i was in Kirkcaldy (sept. 2008) there wasn't a match played (Scotland played Macedonia, we watched in Baritza), but i bought a scarf and home top from the Rovers. Every time i wear it overhere people ask what i wear and where it comes from. Then i proudly say that it's the the home kit of at least the best club in Fife, but in my opinion the greatest in Scotland. Unfortunately people in Kirkcaldy (even the biggest city in Fife) don't think that way. I know that many Kirkcaldians team op with Celtic and Rangers which is the easiest way to follow a club with success. But i remind you all the great day in 1995. At that time most Kirkcaldian people where behind the team and success was there. Let the old times return and join all in with John McGlynn's lads. Were almost back in first division (from now on at least an average crowd of 2500-3000 per home match), and then back to the top flight. With your help it's possible. The only thing i can do listen on internet to open all mics on Saturday to get the result.
Does the Fife's Finest Supporters group allow foreign people to become a member? Please let me know.
Over here I'm a steward at Fc Twente (www.fctwente.nl). Next time when i go to Kirkcaldy (april/may) i'll visit a match and perhaps visit Styx. If your interested i'll take some Twente fan stuff with me.

Kind regards,

Johnny Nijland
